Attila the Stockbroker - 25 years a Punk Poet

Soon to be published under the title "Arguments Yard" Attila's auto-biography covers 25 year's of poetic history, which all started on September 8th, 1980 in Harlow, at Bush Fair Play Barn. Those of us who lived through it remember how Punk history was made, more in the New Towns around London than it ever was by bands manufactured in the media by fashion moguls. Attila's story; how he met The Neurotics, appeared on the John Peel show, and became one of the few (the only?) Communist poets still featured on BBC radio, is the other part of the jigsaw for those who have read Billy Bragg's biography "Still suitable for miners" and wondered why he says so little about Harlow, after he spent so much time on stage at The Square with Phil Jupiters, Attila, Little Dave and Steve Drewitt.

Listen to an exclusive preview reading from the book, which Attila gave for Freshwatersmusic earlier this year, a small part of which also featured in the recent BBC broadcast.

Poetry is best heard live, but if you do not have any speakers you can also read this preview.
